In Mark 16: 1-8, Who tells them that Jesus has been raised? What exactly does this person say?

A young man says, "Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you." The young man is encouraging the disciples to see Jesus in Galilee.

In Mark 16: 1-8, How do the disciples react to the news? How do they feel? What do they do next?

Afraid

In 1 John 4:8, 16 we read: 'God is love.' The Greek word used here for 'love' was this. The word 'agape' describes God's total 'self-gift' of unconditional and infinite love, both among the Persons of the Blessed Trinity and for each and every one of us.

Agape

The entry of Jesus' humanity into divine glory to be at the right hand of the Father; traditionally, this occurred forty days after Jesus' Resurrection.

Ascension

The nailing of Jesus to the Cross that resulted in his real death; Jesus freely offered himself for our salvation.

Crucifixion

The abandonment of hope in salvation and the forgiveness of sins.

Despair

Living forever with God in the happiness of heaven, entered after death by the souls of those who die in the grace and friendship of God.

Eternal life

Why is Jesus' Resurrection considered joyful news?

Good Friday is the celebration of this immense sacrifice Jesus does for us. It is joyful because God has made good on his promise to the Israelites. Living eternal life in heaven is possible through the Resurrection. We know that we will be reunited body and soul on the last day.

One of the three theological virtues 'through which a person both desires and expects the fulfillment of God's promises of things to come'. This is the desire and expectation of the salvation God promised. It is based on God's unwavering fidelity to keeping and fulfilling his promises.

Hope

In John 20: 1-18, Who tells them that Jesus has been raised? What exactly does this person say?

I don't have an answer to this one.

What is the foundation of the Christian faith and why is it a mystery?

It is the Resurrection. Without the Resurrection, we have no hope of the forgiveness of sin and eternal life with God in heaven. The Resurrection is winning good over evil. The Resurrection doesn't eliminate pain and suffering, it lets us know that it is not the end, which gives us hope. We call the Paschal Mystery a mystery. The Resurrection is a door/entry to new life. Christ has won the war for us by his suffering and death on the cross.

In Matthew 28: 1-15, Which disciples go to the tomb?

Mary Magdalene

Christ's work of redemption accomplished principally by his Passion, death, Resurrection, and glorious Ascension, whereby 'dying he destroyed our death, rising he restored our life'. This is celebrated and made present in the liturgy of the Church, and its saving effects are communicated through the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, which renews the paschal sacrifice of Christ as the sacrifice offered by the Church.

Paschal Mystery

In Luke 24: 1-12, How do the disciples react to the news? How do they feel? What do they do next?

Ran to tell the 11 apostles, story seemed like nonsense and nobody believed, Peter went to tomb and was amazed

'This is the triumph of Jesus over death on the third day after his crucifiction. Christ's body is real, but glorified, not restrained by space or time.' This confirms the 'saving', 'redeeming' and 'liberating' power of Jesus and the truth of his divinity.

Resurrection

The gospel accounts of the appearances of the risen Christ to his disciples.

What do we know about the event of the Resurrection and the resurrected body of Christ?

We know that Jesus sacrificed himself. It is both historical and transcendent. Transcendent meaning beyond normal of human bodies.

In Luke 24: 1-12, Who tells them that Jesus has been raised? What exactly does this person say?

While they were puzzling over this, behold, two men in dazzling garments appeared to them. They were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised. Remember what he said to you while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners and be crucified, and rise on the third day."
