What is the story about what Dali and his wife did?
Dali and his wife dressed as the Lindbergh baby and his kidnapper for a costume party in 1934 (the 1 year old baby had been kidnapped and killed in 1932). FYI - Lindbergh had paid the ransom, but the baby was killed anyway. The man found guilty of the crime was later electrocuted. he never admitted he was guilty of the crime, even when he was offered a life sentence in exchange for a confession.

Self-Portrait as a Tehuana (Diego on My Mind). Frida was married to Diego Rivera (he was also a famous painter) - they eventually divorced and then later remarried again. They both had numerous affairs.
Who was Salvador Dali?
Surrealist painter, he was afraid of many things (exposing his feet, assassinations, and grasshoppers - he wouldn't walk on grass). His eccentric behavior oftentimes drew more attention than his artwork - he loved publicity. Lived last 7 years as a recluse (on your own) in a castle. There had been allegations that in his later life Dali was forced to sign blank canvases. These were later painted and then sold as originals -> art dealers are wary of Dali's later works.

Surrealist painter. Born in Barcelona, Spain. At his parents' insistence, Joan worked as an accountant awhile. Eventually, he pursued art full time.

Who is Frida Kahlo?
Mexican painter, she had Polio as a child - caused 1 leg to stop growing. At the age of 17, Frida was in a horrible bus accident. This accident resulted in 32 operations during her lifetime. She was frequently in pain due to the injuries caused by this accident. Mexican - many of paintings celebrated her Mexican heritage
