Name some push and pull factors that led immigrants to America in the 1800s.
Push and Pull Factors of Immigration...
1. Pull- the reasons why an individual or group chose the new location that he or she did. examples: jobs, food, money, and activities 2. Push- the reason why an individual or group were forced to leave or chose to leave a country to locate elsewhere.
PUSH FACTORS (THE BAD)...
1. land reform and low prices 2. Europe experienced wars and revolutions 3. disrupted economies and deserted political refugees 4. fled religious persecution 5. famine 6. Lack of respect
Pull Factors (THE GOOD)...
1. opportunities 2. plentiful land and employment 3. attractions 4. hopes of becoming rich 5. joining of family and friends in America 6. religious and political freedom (worshiping and voting) 7. safety and protection 8. food
Why did immigrants come to the Unites States? What is the impact?
1.Immigrants came to the United States because they wanted religious and political freedom for better living opportunities and to escape wars. 2. The immigrants adopted some American cultures; Americans adopted some immigrant cultures. 3. Examples of the adopted immigrant cultures are: -Foods. (tacos, burritos, Hibachi, and China Grocery's) -Jobs/ Activities( acrylic and gel nails) -Attire and Cosmetics

Although women and blacks could not vote in the 1800's, the incoming immigrants were grateful just to be here to experience the other opportunities and attractions.
