lawn-vire-pwill-guin-gill-goh-geh-ree-kveern-drohb-ool-lahn-tee-sill-lee-yoh-goh-goh-gohchh. The "chh" is the guttural k. Also that was the pronunciation of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, if I'm not mistaken with the both the spelling and the pronunciation. It's one of the longest place names in the world and the longest in the UK and probably Europe (I need to check on that.). Thanks!

-Akash :D

methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl...isoleucine was what you were talking about. There are 189,819 letters in it. The longest name for a place is llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

It's not that long, (well in comparison to all these other words lol), but gynotikolobomassophilia is another sesquipedalian word I thought would be interesting to add.

I also learned that the full name of Titin is very long, over 100,000 letters! But obviously, I did not waste my time trying to learn such a long word meaning TITIN, which is a word that I have never used until now. (Lol)

Lopadotemachoselachogaleokranioleipsanodrimhypotrimmatosilphioparaomelitokatakechymenokichlepikossyphophattoperisteralektryonoptekephalliokigklopeleiolagoiosiraiobaphetraganopterygon (WHEW!!! That took forever and I didn't double check my spelling) Is a dish in a comedy by Aristophanes. I memorized that word when this guy tried to tell me that 'Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis' was the longest word, so I went home and learned that THAT was longer.

-daisymae

It is a place in Wales I know that word

-gagaball1

-melodie

Hippomonstroesquipedalianism is using long words-very meta. Double points!

Friendly reminder that if a word isn't in Merriam-Webster's Unabridged, it's not fair game for the SNSB. :) Those are some fun words!

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (I promise I wasn't copying lol), but humuhumunukunukuapuaa isn't short, and sphygmomanometer is a lot shorter but very fun :)
