How has technology impacted pop music? Describe at least three technological changes that impacted and shaped pop music today or in the past

At first it was little added things like more bass or better pitch. Now it's become to the point where they made dubstep which is all electronic and no actual instruments are used I can't complain to much though because I love Trapstep and Dubstep

I am using Slipknot they're from the past and from today. Their music fits into the pop genre because it appeals to many people now a days and back then. I think they were successful with their music because of the time they started the band.

Pop music has often been seen as youth music. Why do you think pop music appeals to younger individuals? How has the industry promoted this idea?

I think that it appeals to younger people because it shows more understanding for what they are going through. The industry prompted this by having the creators of the song the idea to do these types of songs.

One of the changes in the music industry during the twentieth century was the increasing commercialization of music. Has music become too commercial? Why or why not? Do you think that artists are creating music for money or for other reasons today?

I think that it has become too commercial because it's over used for so many different things mainly for advertisement. I think that a lot of artists now a days are using music to make money more than anything. Some artists I used to like but then they make these ridiculous songs that no one can understand.

What is a boy band? What are some characteristics of a boy band?

It is a band composed of nothing, but boys. They impact teenage audiences, and are usually attractive to the younger age groups

It is music that appeals to the popular taste.

What was the British Invasion? Which famous group was a part of this movement? What impact did the group have on pop music?

It was when pop and rock became big in the U.K. during the 1960's. The Rolling Stones were part of the British Invasion. Their Impact was more towards college kids with their punk style look

What is disco? What are the characteristics of this music?

Music intended to be danced to at a party and was made in the 1970's. Syncopated baselines, possibly a string section, Electric rhythm guitars, Etc.

What theme does pop music typically use in the lyrics? Describe one pop song that uses this theme. Why is this theme such a popular one?

Pop usually uses the theme of love and relationships. One song I would say that uses this theme is Bruno Mars Just the way you are. This theme is so popular because it appeals to so many people now a days.

Some of the music in the 1960s was used to protest social and political issues. Is music still used as a form of protest? Why or why not?

Yes some music is used as a form of protest. Rap is one it usually protests against racism, but then it also depends on the artist that made the song.
