Rate

A quantity measured with respect to another measured quantity.

Proportion

An equation that states that two ratios are equivalent. An equation that states two ratios are equal.

Compare

To identify ways that multiple things are alike. Show how things are similar or different.

Expression

A mathematical phrase that contains operations, numbers, and/or variables without an equal sign.

Unit rate

A rate with a denominator of 1.

Ratio

A relationship between two quantities, normally expressed as the quotient of one divided by the other. For example, if a box contains six red marbles and four blue marbles, the ratio of red marbles to blue marbles is 6 to 4, also written 6:4. A ratio can also be expressed as a decimal or percentage.

Equivalent

Having the same value, equal in value, equal in amount or value.
