how do you graph an inequality? (example: y>6x+3)

you graph it just like y=mx+b and then shade the 'true side' to decide which side to shade, test a point and see if it makes the equation true.

how would you find the solution to an equation like 8x-14=7 on the calculator?

your favorite button! the solve button! solve(8x-14=7,x)

What button do you push to make your google slides go full screen? (haha okay this one is for me to learn)

PRESENT!!! hahah not SHARE!

How do you find the solution to a system of equations by graphing? (example: y=9x+22 and y=-1/2x-7)

You can graph them and find the intersection! graph both lines, then type: --> menu -->analyze graph -->intersection. These steps will highlight the solution/intersection point

What does Dini wear when he goes to the ATM?

a top hat of course (and maybe a vest?)

What does Alfie do to earn money?

clean dishes

What kind of line should you draw (dotted or solid) for this inequality y<x+2

dotted! because you're not allowed to equal the line... kind of like when you're not allowed to be at the pool, but you can be right outside of the pool...

if you are given two points and need to make an equation, what do you do?

find the slope between points (by writing them in a table), then use the point slope formula: y-y1=m(x-x1)

how do you find the solution space for a system of inequalities? y>6x-2 and y<-8x+11

graph them! the solution space is the overlapping shaded region :)

if you are given a slope m= 2, what is the slope of a line that is perpendicular?

m= -1/2, perpendicular lines have the opposite sign and the reciprocal or 'flip'

If you are given a slope m=2, what is the slope for a line that is parallel?

m=2, parallel lines have the exact same slope

if you are given a line equation (like y=5x+2) and need to make an equation for a line that is parallel but goes through the point (4,10), what can you do?

parallel lines have the same slope! so, use the same slope (m=2) and then substitute (4,10) into point slope formula: y-y1=m(x-x1)

How will you make an equation for a line if you are given a slope and a y-intercept?

plug into y=mx+b m is the slope b is the y intercept

How do you solve 7x+4=18? (without the calculator)

use inverse operations to 'un-do' what was done. remember it's important to keep the equation balanced like a scale. here you would subtract 4 from both sides (to un-do + 4) then divide by 7 on both sides (to un-do 7x which is really 7 times x) your answer would be x=2

If you are asked to graph a line and the equation looks like this: 8x+2y=11, what can you do to make it easier to graph?

use the solve button to make it look like y=mx+b. Type --> solve(8x+2y=11,y) and the calculator should give y=4x+11/2 now you have a slope and y-intercept!

How do you find the solution to a system of equations without graphing? (example: y=-3x+5 and y=9x-6)

we haven't talked about this yet... but theres a button for it!!!! menu--> algebra--> solve system of equations --> solve system of linear equations--> select 2 equations and the variables you are using--> type your equations and enter!
