At the 1880 ICED meeting, educators of deaf students from Europe and the USA met to discuss the most appropriate methods for educating deaf students. This affected the course of education of Deaf students from 1880 through 1970 because the oral method was preferred.
Why do deaf people tend to share information about their personal lives and finances with community members?
Because it creates networking among deaf people, opportunities to get to know how people are connected to the deaf community and it may be helpful to other members of the deaf community to share information about finances.

Cardinal numbers are numbers used for counting. For the ordinal numbers 1st to 9th, the movement of the hand twists from the palm facing forward to inward toward the body. For the remaining ordinal numbers from 10th and higher, these numbers have the same production as cardinal numbers.

Numbers can be incorporated into the handshape of certain categories of signs. Give an example for each of the following categories and explain how numbers are incorporated into the production of the signs in each category: a) pronoun signs, b) time signs, c) age signs, and d) money signs.
Pronoun signs- the sign "the-two-of-us" use the inflected number handshape two and moving back and forth between another person and the signer. Time signs- the number sign handshape two, three, and five combined with the movement for the sign minute produced the meanings two-minutes, three-minutes, and five-minutes. Age signs- the number handshape is placed at the chin in the location for the sign age and the sign moves out and downward. Money signs- the number handshape is placed at the corner of the forehead to indicate cents and number incorporation is used when communicating about dollars up through nine-dollars.

Spelled with movement and palm orientation changes that reflect how signs are made. This fingerspelling takes on properties of how signs are produced, thus "lexicalized fingerspelled signs". These signs frequently assimilate medial letters of the words being spelled.

You look up and around the restaurant for the waiter and you sign "wish waiter hurry bring cl:ll-rectangular-shaped-object". What type of classifier have you just used? Why did you not have to fingerspell check in this situation?
The classifier used is a descriptive classifier. You did not have to fingerspell check in this situation because the referents for the object represented are clear.
