What is a coma splice?
A comma splice is the use of a comma to join two independent clauses.
Example 2- I didn't like the movie, it was way too long. (Identify the coma splice and fix the sentence.)
I didn't like the movie. It was too long. I didn't like the movie because it was too long.
Correction 2- My family bakes together nearly every night, and we then enjoy everything we make together.
This sentence is corrected by adding a coordinating conjunction and a comma.
Correction 1- My family bakes together nearly every night. We then enjoy everything we make together.
This sentence is corrected by adding a period and creating two separate sentences.
Correction 4- My family bakes together nearly every night; we then enjoy everything we make together.
This sentence is corrected by adding a semicolon.
Correction 3- After my family bakes together nearly every night, we then enjoy everything we make.
