After Orvil and Loother take the spider legs out, Lony learns about the legs himself. Following this, the three brothers talk. 4., the motif of spider legs represents maturity and coming of age. Throughout the novel There There, we consistently see character development. Each individual has to contribute immensely to their family and the community. He sees himself in the regalia and makes him feel Indian again. I think he doesn't dance at powwows anymore because the woman he lives went with broke her hip and is unable to go and that was a memory they did together.

He wants to get in touch with his dad because he's native and also because it's his father, and he wants a relationship with him.

Right when she considers drinking the bottles in her hotel room's mini-fridge, she looks down and contemplates the spiderweb tattoos on her feet. She is reminded of her mother's speech about homes and traps, and successfully avoids drinking.
