How to Prototype

Ace your homework & exams now with Quizwiz!

Prototypes

Create prototypes to make decisions about a product. Don't create a prototype in expectation it will be your final product.

Sketch

Low-Fidelity prototype created by hand. Sketch so you can see them, communicate them, and evaluate them. Useful at the beginning of a design process

Video Prototype

Show interactions a user might have by recording a video of paper prototyping

Paper Prototype

Something you can actually test. Precise wireframe for each screen a person might encounter. Including the feedback. Pretends to be a real interface on paper.

Bodystorming

Use our whole bodies to simulate the behavior and interactions we want to explore. Incredibly fast and low-fidelity

Wizard of Oz Prototyping

Useful when trying to create a complex functionality that does not yet exist. Using your brain as that function instead of creating something to do that function. Ex. For a driverless car, a useful prototype is to hide a designer in the back that is driving the car while a passenger experiences what it feels like to be in a "driverless" car.
