What is good customer service?

Good customer service means having thorough knowledge of your inventory, experience with your products, and being able to help customers make the best choices for them.

I actually work better under pressure and I've found that I enjoy working in a challenging environment.

I am comfortable with working independently and a team. I have played team sports my entire life where each individual's position is equally important to the overall success of the team, but at the same time I am confident with my ability to work on my own.

What type of environment do you prefer?

I am very flexible with a work environment. I can adapt to just about any environment.

I am very focused on my work, and consequently, am able to work quickly and efficiently.

How long do you expect to remain employed with this company

I would like to pursue my career here for as long as I have the opportunity to.

What do you see yourself doing within the first 30 days on the job?

I'll spend the first month learning and absorbing as much information as I can as well as getting to know the team.

I'm sure if you asked my friends, they would say because I am very invested in improving myself professionally. They would probably describe me as hard-working, intelligent, and dependable

What motivates you?

I've always been motivated by the desire to do a god job at whatever position I'm in. I want to excel and to be successful in my job, both for my own personal satisfaction and for my employer.

What will you do if you don't get this position?

If I don't get this position, I will continue to improve upon customer service and sales skills. I will also try to obtain more sales experience in order for the possibility of working for verizon in the future.

What are your salary expectations?

In this sales position, I plan to make as much money as possible.

What are you passionate about?

One of my biggest passions is helping people. I try to volunteer when I have the time. Growing up, I was very privileged and once I realized this, nothing has made happier than helping the less fortunate.

I believe it should only be used if it is relevant to work.

5 years from now, I will hope to have mastered the job as a sales person for Verizon.

How many hours do you normally work?

At my current job I work about around 30 to 40 hours a week.

Before I answer this, what is a typical career path at Verizon for someone with my skills and experience.

What is your biggest weakness?

Being organized wasn't my strongest point, but I implemented a time management system that really helped my time management skills

What do people most often criticize about you?

I don't think there's one thing I constantly receive criticism about. If someone gives me criticism, I do my best to improve upon it.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy playing different sports. I may not be very good at all of them, but for me its an easier and more fun form of working out.

Tell me about yourself

I am an experienced customer sales representative who is strong in resolving guest complaints and increasing overall sales per guest.

Where else are you interviewing?

I am applying for several sales positions but while I am seriously exploring other sales position, your position would be my first choice.

Are you a self motivator?

I believe I am a self motivator. I give my all to a project, and am always looking ahead to the next one at hand. Successfully completing one and moving on the next is very exciting fore me. I am passionate about my work, and truly enjoy working toward the next big goal.

What can you do for this company?

I can increase your overall sales. I am a positive and driven co-worker and will never stop finding ways in order to improve myself as a salesman, as an employee, and as a co-worker.

Do you consider yourself successful? Why?

I consider myself a success (Look the recruiter in the eye). Describe accomplishments at previous jobs

How do you evaluate success?

I evaluate success by my ability to meet goals set by myself, supervisors, and co-workers. Outside of the job, I evaluate success by being able to participate in my hobbies and maintaining great relationships.

What applicable attributes/experience do you have?

I have worked years in customer service and retail. I am great at engaging with customers. With my job at Truliant, we had to meet quotas for certain services which I constantly met. We also have goals we need to meet at Lonestar which include getting people to sign up for our newsletter and meeting other sales goals.

Why should we hire you instead of the other applicants for the job?

I may not be the most experienced salesmen, but at the same time I have not developed habits that are unattractive to Verizon's culture. I will meet and exceed the job requirements and I can me molded into a prime example of the ideals Verizon follows.

What is your greatest strength?

I pride myself on my customer service skills and my ability to resolve what could be difficult situations.

What are your goals for the next five years/ten years? How do you plan to achieve those goals?

I see myself as a top performing employee in a well-established organization like this one. I plan on gradually meeting goals that are higher and higher and would like to participate in a formal sales education in order to become a better salesman.

What would you do if you found out the company was doing something illegal?

I would report it to my immediate supervisor and going up the chain of command.

What is the worst thing that you haven ever gotten away with?

I would say the worst thing I have ever gotten away with was a New Years party at my parents house three years ago. They went out of town and I'd say there were around 200 people at my house. My house was trashed and my parents came home two days later so I had to clean nonstop until they got home.

What are your pet peeves?

I wouldn't really say I have any pet peeves. If something bothers me, I think about why it does and find a solution.

How would you describe yourself?

I'm a perfectionist. I pay attention to all the details, and like to be sure that everything is just right.

What is your dream job?

I'm not exactly sure what my dream job would be, but it would have to include engaging with many different people. It would also include challenging myself on a daily basis in order to grow as a person which goes hand in hand with constantly having goals to meet and exceed.

If you know your boss is 100% wrong about something how would you handle it?

It really just depends on the situation and the boss's personality. My current supervisor is relatively easy going so I can approach her about the problem in a logical manner.

What has been the greatest disappointment in your life?

My biggest disappointment in life is not pursuing my dream of playing professional Lacrosse. My junior year of high school I went to a scouting camp at the University of Maryland and received scholarship offers to a couple different schools. My senior year of high school, I decided to work full time instead of playing. At the same time, I am grateful for making that decision because I would not be where I am today professionally.

Why did you choose your major?

My family is full of businessmen so it was kind of a given that I would be a business major. But after a while, I realized that it really matches my personality. I'm all about improving efficiency and cutting costs. I feel like a business major would only improve upon my ability to be able to do this.

Describe a time when your workload was heavy and how you handled it

One day, everyone was sent home and I was the only one taking tables. We got really busy and I had about ten tables at the same time, which most servers would not be able to handle. I handled it by asking for help from my boss and keeping calm. I feel like a mistake most people make when they are put under pressure is that they panic. In order to be successful in a challenging environment, it is very important to remain calm and collected.

What challenges are you looking for in a position?

The challenges that I am looking for are to constantly have goals to strive for. I find that if you do not goals, you don't get as much done as you could have.

What interests you about this job?

What interests me most about this job is the fact that your income directly correlated to how well you do on the job. Not only do I work very hard, I also work smart in order to achieve more in the same amount of time.

Describe a difficult work situation/project and how you overcame it

When I first started working at my current job, I received three complaints within the first month. This is an unusual amount at my restaurant. I really had to reflect on what I was doing wrong and I overcame it. I have not received a complaint within the last year.

What do you find are the most difficult decisions to make?

With my current job it is very easy to get down on yourself. There are certain nights where you will make horrible tips over and over again. I used to let it get to me but I've learned that you can't always win, the best you can do is keep a positive attitude and continue on.

Do you work well with other people?

Yes, at my current job, I guide and assist the newer servers in order to do a better job.

Why shouldn't we hire you?

You shouldn't hire me if you are looking for someone who thinks they already know everything about sales. I will not stop learning and growing professionally.
