Vivid language: Imagery

*Concreteness: show your audience something instead of just telling them. *Always simile *metaphor:

Appropriate language

for speaker: don't use compilcate language for audience: explain term word for audience that may not know what it is for the context: understand the context of the speech: places, time, audience, etc, for the topic: decided if your topic is apporiate

Vivid language

helps your listeners create strong, distinct, clear, and memorable mental images. Two common ways to make your speaking more vivid are through the use of imagery and rhythm.
