Long-term Goal

A goal that can be achieved further in the future and requires time and planning (months or years).

Short-term Goal

A goal that can be achieved in the near future (days or weeks).

Completing an objective or reaching a goal.

Time-bound

How long will it take for me to reach my goal? Every goal needs a target date, so that you have a deadline to focus on and something to work toward. This part usually includes a date or time related word. For example: week, month, day, minutes, etc.

Measurable

How will I know when my goal is met? A measurable goal should address questions such as: How much? How many? How will I know when it is accomplished?

Relevant

How will meeting this goal help me in my life? (Goals should be important to you and what's happening in your life right now.)

Attainable

Is this something that I can do? Do I have all of the tools I need to reach this goal? (Ask yourself, is this goal possible?)

What can happen when you tell someone about your goal?

It makes it more likely that you will work towards achieving the goal. It makes you accountable/responsible.

Something that gets in the way of you accomplishing your goal.
