The four types of tissue of the human body
Nervous tissue
Composed of neurons (nerve cells) acts as the function unit of the nervous system, also composed of brain and spinal cord
Epithelial tissue
Found on the outer layer of skin; forms ducts, tubes, and parts of certain glands
Connective tissue
Most abundant of all the body tissues; can be liquid or gel-like. Tendons, ligaments, anything that connects together is CT
Muscle tissue
Three types Voluntary: any muscle that you can move manually, like biceps Involuntary: body does on its own, the heart moves on its own, automatically makes heartbeat Cardiac muscle tissue: specific muscle tissue in the heart
