Nobility demanded a meeting of the Estates General where they could ask for concessions to increase their powers -Maz did not give in - crushed Fronde of the Nobles using 6,000 German mercenaries

R reduced power of Parliament through edict stating that they had to register royal edicts immediately - move towards absolutist monarchy

Rebellion of Bordeaux continued until end of year

Treaty of Reuil - Mazarin gave into demands of Parlement - 27 Articles
