Babylon became a center of science, because they had astronomers studying the sky. This empire was very wealthy. One of the reasons for their wealth came through trade. Many merchants traveled in caravans selling and buying goods.

They had artisans who built beautiful statues like the Assyrian winged bull to stand tall at the entrance to their palaces and temples. They wrote and their writing was based on Babylonian writing. They were successful warriors.
