was created in July 28,1917 to coordinate the production of war materials and the purchase of war supplies.

African Americans in industry

The African American served as a soldiers way before WWI,but they were not fighting along side the white soldiers.

National War Labor Board

It was created in early 1918 by President Woodrow Wilson.It was an agency of U.S. government.

Women in the military

The vast majority of these women were drafted into the civilian work force to replace conscripted men or work in greatly expanded munitions factories. Thousands served in the military in support roles, e.g. as nurses, but in Russia some saw combat as well.
