Hollywood Flat

casters mounted on a bearing plate that allows the wheel to pivot around a vertical axis, also known as smart casters

straight caster

casters that are permanently locked into position so they can't pivot, also known as rigid caster

furniture caster

casters that are primarily used on furniture that are secured and mounted by a stem; also known as stem casters.

steel deck

considered basic building blocks of theater and entertainment industries, constructed using steel truss frame with high quality 3/4" plywood tops.

masonite

is formed using wooden chips and blasting them into long fibers with steam and then forming them into boards, also known as hardboard. Primarily used for stage floors/decks

overhead view/drawing of a set on stage, used for placement of the set and aids with blocking during rehearsals

Table Saw

saw used for ripping boards and cutting sheet goods; blade can be adjusted up and down and degrees of angle; blade stays stationary, fence is movable

sections of flooring that add height to the existing stage, normally built with 1x6 or 2x4 framing and a 3/4" plywood lid, legs are usually made from 2x4s

similar to link in chain but with one end that is threaded to open and close

Title Block

the part of a drawing reserved for information about the drawing in general, usually includes the scale of the drawing and what type of drawing it is

T-hinge

this hinge is commonly used for hanging heavy doors, gates or box lids

Miter Saw
