Formal Cooperation

Material cooperation

is doing something that of itself is not evil, but helps someone else do something that is evil.

Contrition

is sincere sorrow for having offended God

Perfect contrition

is sorrow that comes from an authentic love for God

Conversion

is the ongoing process of becoming more like Christ - more perfect.

Mediate Material Cooperation

is very separated from the evil being done, but still somehow helps the evildoer.

Reconciliation

must be with God (through Jesus' cross) AND with neighbor (through Confession)

Moral Evil

what we call sin; Sin

Attrition

when we are sorry for our sins because we fear God's punishment.

Explicit formal cooperation

willing cooperation in the evil act
