Inference
A prediction or conclusion that the reader comes to based on the text. It is NOT stated directly in the text. The reader must read between the lines.
Summary (main ideas that make up a summary)
A simplified version of a text or piece of text. It only focuses on the main ideas and does not include any minor details. It does NOT include direct quotes from the text. Think of the plot line and the major components: characters, conflict, attempts to solve the conflict, climax, and resolution.

Main conflict
The main problem in the story. It is ALWAYS introduced in the beginning of the story. If an issue occurs or is presented in the middle of the story, it IS NOT the main conflict.
