a long glass tube used to precisely deliver variable volumes

ring stand

a metal stand that equipment can be clamped to in order to stabilize the equipment

analytical balance

a scale that can measure weights to a high precision

wash bottle

a squeeze bottle that is used to wash down glassware and add distilled water

quantitative glassware

equipment used either to deliver (TD) or to contain (TC); more precise and so is used when accuracy matters

volumetric glassware

laboratory glassware that has been carefully calibrated to contain very accurate volumes or allow for the measurement of very accurate volumes; usually accurate up to 2 decimal places; include volumetric pipet, flask, and buret

graduated cylinder

measures a wide range of volumes accurately enough; NOT volumetric; pretty qualitative

the equipment is calibrated to transport the measured volume

used to draw liquid into a volumetric pipet, requires more skill than the pipette pump

pipette pump

used to draw liquid into a volumetric pipet, the thumbwheel makes it easy to use

boiling stick

used to ensure even boiling of a liquid so that the liquid does not splash or bubble over

hot plate

used to heat chemicals without the need of an open flame

beaker

used to hold or store liquids, provides a very inaccurate measure of volume (use only when making a big jar of solution; not need too much accuracy)

used to pick up and move a beaker

used to prepare standard solutions, contains a very specific volume of liquid
