How do you define line of sight?
A straight line where an observer has unobstructed vision.
How can you define horizon?
An imaginary line where the sky meets the earth.
How can you define altitude?
How far above the earths surface something is.
What is the difference between lines of latitude and lines of longitude?
Lines of latitude run from east to west and lines of longitude run from north to south.
If you watched a car drive away on a log straight road what would you notice?
The car will keep getting smaller in till you see it start to "sink" into the earth in till the hoot disappears over the horizon. This happens because the surface of the earth is curved
How can you define elevation?
The distsnce above average sea level.
What makes the sun come up and go down?
The earth is rotatating or spinning around its axis and we are so used to it that we don't feel it. So when the sun comes up the sun isn't moving its the earth.
What causes day and night on earth?
The earths rotation on its axis, the half of the earth facing the sun is expirencing day and the half facing away from the sun is expirencing night.
When can you have the easiest p to observe the moon from earth?
When it is above the horizon in day or night.
Would there be day and night on the earth if it didn't revolve around the sun?
Yes but one side would be always be dark and the other always light.
