He would get clips from interviews and make it into one large thing. Dene offers Native Americans money if he can interview them. He attends the powwow. Dene got a grant of $5,000 for his project of Indians sharing their story. Dene interviews Calvin and pays him money. Dene sets up a booth inside the powwow to ask whoever questions. When the powwow is being robbed, Dene is almost shot but saved from a pole in the booth.
