vacuoles

Cells use vacuoles to store nutrients, such as sugar. Vacuoles also store water and waste. Plant cells usually have one large vacuole. Vacuoles often look like bubbles. They have a thin membrane around them.

Chromosomes

Chromosomes contain the master plan for cell activities. This plan helps control what the cell does and how it grows and develops. In animal and plant cells, the chromosomes are inside the nucleus. Chromosomes often look like long coiled springs.

The nucleus is often shaped like a sphere. It has long coiled structures called chromosomes inside. The chromosomes contain the master plan for cell activities and cell development. They help the nucleus carry out its job.
