A tint is a light value and a shade is a dark value.

Color wheel: the spectrum bent into a circle. It shows the three primary, three secondary, and six intermediate hues.

What happens when you mix a hue with its complement?

It dulls the hue or lowers it's intensity.

The brightness or dullness of a hue.

optical color is the color that actually appeared and not the color changed by shadows and lights. Arbitrary color is a personal preference they, the artists picks.
