Estimate annual revenue for eye drops in US?

300 M in the US -break into 5 age groups, the usual 15, 30, 45, 60 75 =assume % of sight problems. 20%, THEN UP as you get older in 10 increments =assume rate of adoption of eye drops, maybe 50% for middle, but lower 10-20% for kids or young adults because parents don't want to test eyedrops in changing eyes, and old people will probaly nt care much about keeping their eyes in top shape. =multiply and add up!

market size for gas tanker trailers?

300 chumps, assule 3/house 100 houses -assume 2 cars/house, so 200 cars and trucks So what about companies, and rentals? assume 25% is a good ballpark. so that's 50 cars and trucks. 250M total! now assume they drive approx 12,000 miles a year (that's on my insurance for 1000 a month) and assume 15/miles a gallon, so 800 gallons of gas a year. 250x800 = 200B of gallons per year now assume 25% don't need transportation is that's 150B gallons a year. now out of that, 80% are gas tanker trailers, so that's 120B of gallons. a tanker holds 10,000 gallons, and 50 trips/year so 500,000 a year so 120B by 500K, is 240,000 tankers needd a year BUT 10 year life, so 24,000 a year

Market size for bike helmets

300M chumps -assume 3 per house, so 100M households -Let's assume 50% houses have 2 kids, so 50 x 2 = 100M kids -75% of all kids ride bikes so 75M kids! So 100M kids, so 200M adults! let's say half like sports to 100M sports adults =now say 25% (because I have four close friends, and he likes to bike) like bikes, so 25M break into two tiers, hardcore (top 20%) and casual (top 80). That's 5 hardcore and 20 casual. 75+5+20 = 100M people who ride bikes and would like a helmet BUT 5year life of helmet, so 100/5 = 20M per year. Then assume $50 each!

market size for internet routers for commercial segment. (20-1000)

-300 chumps -size to 5 age groups, assume 50% work. might have to play around with the age thingys. 50% are in working age. 150M, assume they work part/full time -break it down into size. -20 are mom and pop, and SMBs less 100 another 20 are larger enterprises, so more then >1000. so 60% of 60M chumps who work here then given range of 20-1000, assume avg is 500 =60M/500=120,000 companies! then out of annual revenue x1 to internet routers

market size for new cars per year

-300M chumps -100M households -assume an average of two (husband, and wife, or a business and then a hot rod) = 200M cars total -assume 10 year life, so 20 M cars needed per year -break it down to 50% new and 50% used, so 10M new!

market size for artificial turf per year for schools

-300M chumps -people who go to high school, 15-18. Assume 4%.= 12M high school eligable people -assume pretty much 99% go to high schoo, so 12M high schooles people =assume 1000M per high school, so 12M/1K = 12,000 high school Universities. 18-22, another 4%, so 12M college people. assume 80% all go to college so 10M college people assume 10,000 per class. = 1000 universities. = 13,000 schools TURF $10 sq ft field is 120 yds by 60 yds (100 x 50 and extra room)= 3 ft yd so 120 x 60 x 3 x3 = 64800 = 65000 sq ft mutiply by price divide by 10 for 10 yeear life!

market size for Band Aids?

300M chumps -break it into kids, and adults by age group. the 0-15 are kids and 20% so 60M kids, and 240 adults -kids are dumb, they get a boo-boo every month. so 60M kids x 12 per year = 720M, assume 3 bandages for 3 days cause parents are really worrysome people. so thats 2160M, or 2.16B -adults are lucker. maybe every 3 months. so 240 adults x 4 = 960M per month, assume 2 bandages (one that day and another) so 1920M or 1.92B Add em up so that's around 4 B, take 75% market share, 3B! :D

Market size for migraine product.

300M chumps assume 2% with migraines (because I'm the only guy out of my entire B-school section who had em) assume out of that 50% have severe migraines (which I have, because it's always a 50/50 chnce that my life sucks) so that's 1% of 300. = 3M so far.. how actual use - that 100% of have migraines can afford it. Because they'll find a way, either by OTC or with insurance how actual use. Assume that 100% of have migraines actually go out and do it because migraines really suck! = expected dosage 3M by medication price, and # of uses!

estimate population?

315 for US census, so let's do 300M

Market size strategy.

Break it down to the question, by quantity Then x by price to find annual. Then... SO WHAT?

Persons per household.

From the 300M of top, and the 100M of households, I'm going to assume 3 people per house.

Median Income?

I'm gonna think about this as a range. I'd say a good top tier job is 100K, and a non good job is 0 for those who unfortunately are still looking, so I'm gonna assume 50K

GDP?

It was 18.4 from 2014, so let's assume 20T.

factors how to slice?

Start with Population (300M) -Age (5 groups) -Gender (M/F, two groups) -Household vs Individual (100M vs 300M chumps) -Preferences (a low %?) -Income (can they afford it?, slice this after preferences) -Frequencies (how much a day, how much a year)

Annual sales of McDonalds in US?

TS = #stores x $Avg stores/yr #stores: population (300M) / store/people (25K because UWS has 200K and there's 8 stores) = 12K $Avg stores/yr = 3 2-hr prime periods. = 6 hrs =1 register has one order per minute, =2 registers per store =120 per hour x 6 = 720 =$10 per meal (meals in NY, 9 before tax!) =assume 365 day/yr= 720 x $10 * 365 30B. SO WHAT? That's a lot of revenue per year....but need to benchmark that against other competitor.

households?

census was around 114M, so let's shoot for 100M.

Life Expectancy?

it was like 78 years from 2012 census, so I'll make it 80.
