He lost in touch with most of his college friends. He works all the time and is always busy. He is too busy to have children with his wife. Mitch wanted to help people in need he never pursued it. Mitch is not happy with his family becuase he doesn't spend time with his friends or family. He doesn't stop working to seprated time for things worthwhile like spending time with his wife.

Morries means by the "tension of opposites" is that two things in a persons life is always fights againsts each other to win. This phrase exemplifies Mitch's life since collage by how he gives up what he really wants, his dreams to what is doing now, working at a newspaper. Personal.

What major event does Mitch cover a few weeks after his first visit with Morrie? How has Mitch changed since this visit? Why do you think these changes have occurred?

The World's Primier Tennis Competition in Wimbledon. Mitch has changed since visiting Morrie because he keeps thinking about Morrie and what Morrie talked about. Mitch sees how people follow around famous people and sees how it is a waste of time. These changes have occured becuase of Morrie and how he lives compared to other people.

When Mitch returns from London, what has happened at the newspaper where he works? how does he react?

The unions at his newspaper had gone on a strike. Mitch's reaction was confusion and depression. He did not know what to de because his life revolved around work. A week after the strike he could called Morrie to visit.

During his sophomore year in college, what does Mitch tell Morrie he wants to do when he gets out of college? How does Morrie responds? Why do you think Mitch "lost his dream"?

To be a famous musician - a pianist Morrie responds that it's a hard life to be a musician, but it Mitch really wants it, he can make it happen. Mitch "lost his dream" becaise he didn't get anywhere and ha gave up trying. His uncle's death also impacted him to give it up.

How does Morrie explain his dying process? How does Mitch react?

Morrie explains that he will suffocate becuase he has asthma, therefore his lungs cannot take the disease. ALS works up so when the ALS reaches to Morrie's kings he will suffocate. Mitch's reaction is that he does not know what exactly to say So Mitch says that "you never know" and "Nobody can say."

How does Morrie explain the interest people have in him since his appearance on "Nightline"? Why do you think he refers to himself as "a bridge"?

Morries explains that people are interested in him because they are living unhappily, while he is dying, but he is surrounded by caring souls, so he is dying happy. Morrie refers to himself as "a bridge" because people see him as a bridge between life and death because he is not alive as he use to be, but he is not dead.
