Three common needs of all humans

Absolute location
- a specific location, or absolute. For example, an address.
Relative location
-general description of where a place lies. For example, Lake Erie is north of Ohio.
Environment
-includes an area's land, water, climate, plants and animals.
human geography
-is the study of the world's people, communities and landscapes.
physical geography
-study of the world's physical features -its landforms, bodies of water, climate, soil, and plants.
cartography
-the science of making maps.
meteorology
-the study of weather and what causes it.
Map
A flat drawing that shows part of the Earth.
Region
A part of the world that has one or more common features.
Eratosthenes
Greek librarian and scientist, known as the "Father of Geography"

Global
Studying geography at a level that looks at the whole world.
Local
Studying geography at a town or community level.
